Partnerships and community

Built with the people who know the rock: universities, research institutes, industry bodies, governments and the town of Monzón.

Since 2017 Helios has built relationships with recognised players across the natural hydrogen industry: universities, research institutes, industry bodies and government agencies in Spain and the European Union.

In Europe, Helios is active across several policy areas, working with the European Parliament and Council so that legislation keeps pace with the commercialisation of natural hydrogen and helium.

In August 2021 Helios signed a Letter of Intent with the Government of Aragón to progress the Monzón natural hydrogen project to production. Declared a Project of Regional Significance - Government of Aragon declaration, May 2023.

The Monzón mayor, businesses and local population are supportive of the project, and no major objections have been lodged. Under the Hydrocarbons Act the commune would receive a 5% royalty on gross revenue.
